Zero fare image

The RTD’s Zero Fare for Youth pilot program will run through the summer until August 31, 2024. This means students can continue to enjoy free rides on all RTD services, including buses and trains, throughout the summer break. If you are heading out of town, keep in mind that service to DIA is also included.

Staff on playground

Ask nearly any elementary student what their favorite part of the school day is and you are likely to hear a resounding, “RECESS!” This welcome break in the school day brings a chance to get outside, play, socialize, and recharge. However, for students with physical, emotional or cognitive disabilities, play equipment options can be limited and hard to get to.

New Vista construction

Across BVSD, crews are getting ready to start construction on renovation projects as soon as students and teachers leave for summer break later this month. This summer will be the first major construction season of the current Building for Student Success bond-funded construction program approved by voters in November 2022. The BVSD Bond team has approximately $42M of construction work planned from April through September, with another $28M in design work occurring simultaneously.
