What a wonderful evening celebrating the learning, creativity, and hard work of our Columbine students! Our families and community came together to see the amazing projects and learning experiences our students have been working on. We are so proud of our students and grateful to everyone who helped make this night so special!

A place at the table: BVSD’s new Health Services director advocates for the important role of school nurses

When Tammy Jeffery, Boulder Valley School District’s new Director of Health Services, talks about school nursing, she is quick to dispel a common misconception. The work is about far more than bandages and ice packs.

While health room staff provide critical immediate care for students who become sick or injured at school, school nurses have a broader clinical and case-management role.

E-Bike or E-Moto? BVSD teams with community partners on education initiatives

E-bikes continue to be a popular way for BVSD students to get to school. They can provide students with greater independence, reduce car trips, and make getting around our community fun and active. 

As electric-bike technology evolves, however, it can be difficult for families to know exactly what type of vehicle their student is riding. Understanding the difference between a legal e-bike and an e-moto or other motorized vehicle is an important part of riding safely and legally.
